Injection sequence

Conceptual overview. This sequence describes the device concept for information only. It is not a substitute for approved instructions for use, and the final steps may change as development progresses.

Step 01 / 07Schematic of step 1: Device preparationSchematic · not to scale

Device preparation

The device is taken from its packaging and prepared for use. The exact preparation steps depend on the final device configuration and primary container.

Step 02 / 07Schematic of step 2: Application to the skinSchematic · not to scale

Application to the skin

The device is placed on the injection site and adheres to the skin, so it stays in position without being held.

Step 03 / 07Schematic of step 3: ActivationSchematic · not to scale

Activation

The user starts the injection with a single activation step. From this point the device runs its sequence on its own.

Step 04 / 07Schematic of step 4: Automatic injectionSchematic · not to scale

Automatic injection

The mechanism inserts the needle and delivers the dose subcutaneously. The user’s hands are free while this takes place.

Step 05 / 07Schematic of step 5: Completion feedbackSchematic · not to scale

Completion feedback

The device indicates that the injection is complete. The form of feedback — visual, audible or tactile — is part of ongoing design work.

Step 06 / 07Schematic of step 6: Needle retractionSchematic · not to scale

Needle retraction

At the end of the sequence, the needle retracts back into the device.

Step 07 / 07Schematic of step 7: Removal and disposalSchematic · not to scale

Removal and disposal

The device is removed from the skin and disposed of according to the instructions that will accompany the final product.
