Devices

Two hands‑free device concepts.

A skin-adhered autoinjector and a wearable bolus injector, both built on the same principle: activate once, and the device completes the injection.

Hands-Free Autoinjector

Device concept

A skin-adhered injection device concept designed to carry out the injection automatically once it has been activated — so the user does not need to hold the device in place while the dose is delivered.

Design concept
The device is applied to the skin, activated, and then completes its injection sequence on its own: needle insertion, drug delivery, completion feedback and needle retraction.
Key features
  • Skin-adhered device design
  • Hands-free operation after activation
  • Automatic injection sequence
  • Needle insertion and retraction concept

Wearable Bolus Injector

Device concept

A wearable injection-device concept intended for subcutaneous drug delivery. The device is worn on the body during the injection, removing the need to hold an injector in position.

Wearable design concept
The wearable bolus injector (WBI) concept is designed to adhere to the skin and deliver a bolus dose subcutaneously through an automatic, mechanically driven sequence.
Key features
  • Wearable, skin-adhered form factor
  • Subcutaneous bolus delivery concept
  • Automatic injection sequence after activation
  • Needle insertion and retraction concept

02Status definitions

Concept, prototype, demonstration device — what we mean.

We use these terms consistently across the site so that the status of each device is clear.

Concept

A defined device principle and design intent.

Prototype

A functional build used to develop and test the mechanism.

Demonstration device

A build made to show how the concept works to partners.

Commercially available

Approved and on the market. Neither concept is at this stage.
